Everyone needs sleep. Depending on what you do in the day, you can get good sleep and bad sleep. Here are some general facts about how to get good sleep:

  1. Periodically exercising throughout the day creates less of a struggle to fall asleep soundly, but try not to exercise 4 hour before bed.
  2. Caffeine can wake you up but it is best not to have any 3 hours before bed or it affects sleep and causes nightmares or it feels like you had no sleep the night before.
  3. In general, adults need 7-9 hours of sleep. Kids need about 8-10 hours of sleep.
  4. Hunger can be very common right before bed, food can cause nightmares. Try not to eat any food 1 hour before going to bed.
  5. Reading is a healthy habit but reading is not good right before bed. If it is an exciting book, it is almost impossible to read to put it down.
  6. People can be very thirsty before bed and dink tons of water. This is not healthy for sleep because you wake up in the middle of the night and have to go to the bathroom. This is very annoying because it interrupts precious time that you could be using for sleep.
  7. The best way to sleep is your back. If you sleep on your stomach, it can cause back and neck pain. These aching bones can affects your day at work or at school.
