Swimming

Swimming is one of my favorite activities to do in the summer. Swimming strengthens your muscles. Here are ten interesting facts about swimming!

  1. Only 2,000 people make it to US swimming trials and 50 actually make it on the team.
  2. Swimming in the olympics was only available to women since 1912.
  3. Humans have always had an instinct of swimming even when we lived in caves.
  4. In 1896, swimming was introduced into the olympics.
  5. Majority of competitive swimmers win about 6-12 miles a day.
  6. In 1962, Gertrude Ederle was the first women to swim the English Chanel.
  7. In Moscow, Russia, the largest swimming pool was made.
  8. Most professional swimmers shave their entire body before a competition.
  9. Swimming was a noble skill for the Japanese samurai.
  10. Swimming reduces your stress, anxiety, depression.

These facts are very interesting. Swimming is a great exercise for your body.
