The Woman And The Orb – Prologue

I love writing stories so I thought I should share one with you!

A long time ago, there was a witch who wanted all the power in the world. She came upon a majestically purple orb that said that she would get all the the power she wanted.

Present day Dalassar, Princess Genevieve’s Birthday.

“Father,” Genevieve asks worriedly, “who exactly will be at the party for my birthday?”

“Oh, just a few people. No one you need to worry about,” King Terrance says proudly.

“Will mother be there?” She asks.

“Of course” her father explains.

4 hours later.

Screaming. Shouting. Running. Hiding. A woman’s evil laughter.

People I look up to

I look up to lots of people. Today, I am going to list the main people I look up to and why I look up to them.

  1. My parents – I look up to my parents because they are super nice, smart, and they are my parents.
  2. My teachers – I look up to my teachers because they teach me everything I know just like my parents. They are funny, nice, and smart.
  3. Misty Copeland – I look up to Misty Copeland because ever since I read a book about her, I really got to know her through the writing because I have never met her in person But, if I did, that would be super cool.
  4. Serena Williams – I look up to Serena Williams because I love tennis and she is an awesome player! Plus, we have the same last name.
  5. Venus Williams – I look up to Venus Williams for the same reasons I do for Serena Williams. They are both awesome tennis players!

Funny Story: At school, my sister and I are referred to as the Williams sisters because we have the same last name as the tennis players that are also referred to as the Williams sisters.

Hatshepsut – Ancient Egypt

As I mentioned before in my last blog post about Ancient Egypt, Ancient Egypt is one of my favorite historic topics to write and learn about. In this blog post, I am writing about the first female pharaoh, Hatshepsut.

Here are some facts about Hatshepsut.

  1. As I already mentioned, she is the first female pharaoh.
  2. She wore male pharaoh clothing and even the fake beard to get the same respect the male pharaohs were given.
  3. She eventually achieved the respect the male pharaohs were given.
  4. When her mummy was found, there was still a couple strands of hair on her head.
  5. According to pictures of Hatshepsut’s mummy, she had reddish colored hair.

Art: Water Color Effect

One of my favorite techniques in art is the “Watercolor Effect”. The “Watercolor Effect”, is a style of art on paper that looks like water colors but is only pens and water. You can do all starts of colors to make things like space, the ocean, etc. Here are the supplies and steps in making the “Watercolor Effect”.

Supplies:

  1. Paper
  2. Markers
  3. Plastic Bag
  4. Scissors
  5. Spray Bottle Containing Water

Step One:

Use scissors to cut plastic bag in half.

If you need to, you can use a EXPO Marker to outline where you are going to cut.
This is the wrong side in the photo, but use the side of the plastic bag without the printed labels.

Step Two:

Use markers to scribble in sections on the plastic bag.

You can find these pens at https://www.amazon.com/Brushpens-Painting-Drawing-Lettering-Mehrfarbig/dp/B07DZV9W6F/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=brush+marker+pro&qid=1611710591&sr=8-3 (any water base pen should work)
The markers above the plastic bag are the exact markers I used.

Step Three:

Spritz the plastic bag with the spray bottle full of water (Warning: Don’t spray too much water on the plastic bag otherwise the colors will mix).

This brand of spray bottle works nicely because the each spritz is very fine droplets of water.

Step Four:

Flip plastic bag over onto piece of paper.

Don’t mind the cup and table spoon in the picture (I could not find a spray bottle at the time, so I experimented a little bit).

Step Five:

Rub finger across back side of plastic bag to embed the marker into the paper.

Step Six:

Slowly lift up paper and then you have the final result.

FINAL RESULT!
