Book Review: Serafina And The Black Cloak

Warning: There are spoilers in this blog post!

I am very picky when I chose what I am going to read (except when it is a school novel that I have to read).

Funny story: There is a saying, “never judge a book by it’s cover”. But, one time, I was supposed to read a book for a project at school and I chose this book called, Pillage. It caught my eye because there was a cool looking dragon on the cover. I read the first chapter and I was like, “when is the dragon going to show up?” It started slow then gradually got better once you start reading further into the book. This is just like how Serafina And The Black Cloak turned out to be.

Getting on to what this blog post is actually supposed to be about.

Serafina And The Black Cloak is a very interesting book. Remember when I said that I am very picking when I am closing what to read, that must say something since I actually decided to read beyond the first chapter. The author (Robert Beatty) wrote the book really well. Just a warning though, there are some creepy parts (for me at least), so try not to read it at night when she went into the forest that her father (not her real father) told her not to go into. There are some crazy twists in this book, like the person that you least suspect to be the man in the black cloak.

After reading the book, I realized how much I like mystery genres.

My final rating for this book is a 5 star rating. I would totally read this book again. If you have not already read it, I recommend that you do. There is a whole series, so if you like it, there are plenty more in the Serafina series to read.

Pyramid of Giza – Ancient Egypt

Ancient Egypt is one of my favorite things to learn about in history. There are meant things that have not been uncovered about Ancient Egypt.

Here are some cool facts about the Pyramid of Giza of Ancient Egypt.

The Pyramid of Giza:

1. The first pyramid in Ancient Egypt.

2. 2.3 million stone blocks were used to build the Pyramid of Giza.

3. There are three hypothesis on how the Pyramid of Giza was built.

a. They dug stone blocks out of the grown and carried them to their position.

b. They used some type of pulley system to carry each block into position.

c. Aliens built the pyramid.

Comment down below of which you think is most likely to have happened.

I will be posting about something historic at least once every week, most likely on Wednesdays.

Thanks!

5 Food Groups

Health is very important. One of the many elements of health is the 5 Food Groups. The 5 Food Groups are made up of each major product in what we eat. Here is a list of the 5 Food Groups.

5 Food Groups:

  1. Vegetables
  2. Fruit
  3. Diary
  4. Protein
  5. Grains

But, there is one bad type of food.

6. Junk Food

Junk Food is cake, Ice Cream, Cookies, etc. But, you can have some of those things for a holiday. This is one of the reasons that my parents don’t let us have sparkling cider any other time than holidays.

How To Get Hundreds of Followers

Although, I hardly have any followers. I still know what I am doing wrong. In order to get more followers, you have to have lots of content that people actually want to either watch or read about. I am working on posting more content for you guys. My goal is to post at least 2-3 posts a day. If anyone wants me to write about a certain topic, you are welcome to email me on the Contact Page using this URL, https://lilyandkara.com/contact/, or comment down below in the comment section.

Responsibility

Responsibility is key in life. You use responsibility when getting your homework/work done on time, cleaning your room, paying attention and being on time to a class/meeting, etc. You will get nowhere in life if you are not responsible. It can affect your future job, etc. Remember when I mentioned cleaning your room is being responsible. Well, if you need any tips on cleaning your room efficiently, check out my blog post for that called, “Keeping Your Room Clean And Organized”.

Organizing A Business

Organizing a business can be troublesome. I have some recommendations that might be useful for you.

  1. You need a good workspace that is quiet, makes you feel creative, and a space that you are comfortable in. You can refer to my Old Room To New Room blog post for more details.
  2. I noticed that I had tons of papers all jumbled up together so I went threw them and placed my business papers in a binder. I will list the categories at the bottom of this blog post.
  3. This is a story but I think it might be useful. I was watching YouTube 5 days ago and saw an add for a business organizer. The URL is monday.com. They help you organize employee’s jobs, vacation requests, etc. I recommend that you check them out.
  4. Like most companies, there is a chain of command. Although, this requires more people, a good way to collect all the data from different teams is to have a reporting manager for each team. Then have a reporting manager that all the reporting managers below them that represent each team report to them.

Here are the different categories for my binder.

  1. Schedule
  2. Calendar
  3. Assignment
  4. Project/Report
  5. People
  6. Website
  7. Grades
  8. Jobs
  9. Design
  10. Finance
  11. Costumer Service
  12. Marketing
  13. Accountant
  14. Receptionist
  15. Safety
  16. Office

Fascinating Creatures: The Megalodon

Recently, I have had an interest in the historic shark, the Megalodon. So, I wanted to share some facts that I learned with the people that read my blog.

I wanted to start out with what the Megalodon’s diet is. The Megalodon eats whales and other big animals. They only eat animals that are big otherwise the Megalodon would probably not last long due to the fact of eating so many smaller things. The average Megalodon would have to eat hundreds of tiny creatures in order to get a satisfied stomach.

This goes for other sharks as well as the Megalodon. The reason that shark’s skin is rough is that it actually is not skin. Sharks are covered in dermal denticles which are similar to fish scales but their size is microscopic.

The Megalodon is not only the largest shark to have ever swim in the ocean, but one of the largest fish ever.

As you can probably tell by my last fact, the Magalodon is huge. It can grow up to be 60 ft. long or possibly even longer.

The Megalodon went extinct about 2.5 million years ago.

Here is a picture to help you get an idea of the Megalodon’s size.
